South Australian 2013 – 14 [Generation X] Budget

By | National Broadband Network, Small Business Support, Workforce Development, Workforce Planning | No Comments

Honourable Jay Weatherill MP, Premier and Treasurer released the South Australian 2013 – 14 budget on 6.6.13 matching decisions with priorities in the recent Economic Statement including:

  • Creating a vibrant city
  • Realising the benefits of the mining boom for all
  • Growing advanced manufacturing
  • Premium food and wine

This is balanced with social priorities of an affordable place to live; safe communities, healthy neighbourhoods; and every chance for every child.

With Jay as Premier and Treasurer, I think he has designed a Generation X style budget, with broader definitions of policy frameworks, an entrepreneurial mindset, focus on community participation and a work life balance theme.

So from a workforce planning and development perspective where are the opportunities? Read More

Media Release: Why the Airport Lounges are emptying?

By | National Broadband Network, Small Business Support, Social Media | No Comments

Why the Airport Lounges are emptying?

One of the clearest signs of the effectiveness of the National Broadband Network (NBN) is the increased ease of being able to locate a seat within the airport lounges. Until the introduction of NBN it was deemed to be a sign of efficiency if a business executive worked from an airport lounge – no longer the case. The tools of the trade pre NBN consisted of a laptop, mobile internet device and a phone. The smart NBN business executive is now using the lounges for recreational travel and the electronic equipment is disappearing due to the efficiencies of NBN.

Workforce BluePrint, owned and managed by Wendy Perry is at the forefront of the NBN and provides workforce development and planning for local, national and international business clients.
